The color of my cheeks

When you asked me out

Said you wanted only me

Said I was what you were about

The color of my heart

The one you gave in Valentine's Day

To show that you cared

In every possible way

The color of my dress

The one I wore to the ball

With you as my prince

The center of attention in that grand hall

The color of my lips

Crimson with delight

The ones that you kissed

The one that was so right

The color of the box

That held the promise ring

It's been one year

And you make my heart sing

The color of the night

When we went out for a drink

You broke the happiness when you said it

And you made me sink

The color of my pain

As I began to bleed

I couldn't take it

Without you I had no need

No purpose in life

No meaning to a soul

I died by drowning

In the blood that made me whole

The color of the rose

You brought to say you didn't mean it

To take back what you lost

To get back the heart you lit

You looked for me

Searched until you couldn't anymore

Then found a little note

It said “without him what do I live for?”

You cried, cried you eyes out

Realized I cared enough

I ended my life because you were gone

Otherwise it would be too tough

The color of my pain

The color that I bled

The color that defined it all

The color was red…
