Today Tonight and tomorrow.

by Dru   Feb 23, 2005

Today, tonight tomorrow I’ll think of you,
and why we often flee what we pursue.
Your fear of loving me, your fear of pain,
my own reluctance soon to love you again.
I've thought if we could make time disappear,
we could love with neither hope nor fear.
Prune past and future, make the moment flower,
freeze frame all and save this single hour.
But when we pause to watch the moment flow,
removing us, and all we love and know.
Beneath we see eternity and space,
so thin a moving film is time and place.
I cannot but anticipate the end,
desire a lover, yet fear the loss a friend.
