Remember

How do I survive,
The pain I feel in my heart?
Where does recovery begin?
Where do I go to start?

One minute I'm fine,
And feel that I'll be okay.
Then next I start to ache,
And can't make it through the day.

Why is love so hard?
Why is the hurt so intense?
When we lose a part of our soul,
For reasons that make no sense.

We remember little experiences,
Like touching a stove when it's hot.
God wants us to remember the repercussions,
So doing it again, we will not.

God made love hard on purpose,
As we take it for granted each day.
He wants us to remember the hurt we feel,
When we selfishly throw it away.

So before you start thinking,
About throwing some love away.
Remember that hot stove,
And the price that you had to pay.
