Thank You Sent Your Way

Everything I want to say and want for you to hear
Could take up lots of pages, I’d be writing this for years
Yet I have discovered that I can sum it up in two words
Two syllables, a tiny phrase, something I once heard

These words are found in many places, said by many tongues
Yet each time they are spoken, they sound like some new ones
And every time I speak them, with the sound meant for your ears
I’m sending you a message, grateful that you’re near

Only 8 little letters, meaning nothing on their own
But by putting them together my gratitude is shown
I hope you hear my message, I’m sure you already knew
I give you these small words, the words ‘THANK YOU’
