Lost To Cancer

I stand before the ocean
Wishing I could reach you
Bound by my devotion
But there is nothing I can do

You are lost to the cancer forever
And no matter how I try
We can never be together
Because I let you die

I watched and let you give in
You gave up, refused to fight
You should have found the strength within
You should be here with me tonight

But you let go, believing it was better this way
Believing you’d go in peace, but still
I know if I’d made you fight each day
We’d be together, but now we never will

And this tear flowing down my cheek
Is anger at me, anger at you, but also pain
Complete agony when I wake, when I sleep
I see you always, but never again.
