Just listen

Before I approach any issues
That may make me seem insincere
You must promise to listen closely
Truly listen
Not just hear

Deception has been seemingly
More prevalent than the truth
And lies that you have heard
May keep me from getting through

First, I’ve been down that road
And it’s one I’d rather not travel
See I was just a child then
And we’ve both have surpassed high school

Even if were nothing more than friends
I wont take it for granite
Just please don’t turn away
