Just One Man

by Daryl E Holloway   Jul 25, 2003

Do hearts ever mend?
Wil he remember my name?
I hope this wasn't just some game.

'Cause I played along,
gave my best, and lost.
Was all this pain worth it's huge cost?

He held my hand,
held me close by his side,
Now it's over, and for days I've cried.

I want him back,
I want him forever.
But my loving eternity has turned into never.

Does he know how I feel?
Does he feel the same?
Does his heart feel sadness, anger or shame?

Say I love, but make sure you mean it.
And if you do, be sure to repeat it.

My story is sad, But I stay strong.
The hurt may last, but not for long.

I need to move, remember to love,
Have to stay strong to rise above.

I'm going to make it,
I know I can,
My life won't be ruined by just one man.
