Nothing New

Before I even get another chance,
Love takes away all of my options,
I see her face now in the distance
I see her hand slide out of view

The feelings I’m hiding reveal nothing new
I close my eyes to escape the world
I close my eyes...and I see you

I try to talk to you,
Oh how I try to say
But my words get lost
They drift away

I watch you now from the distance
Knowing there's nothing I can do
Should I bother with persistence?
This has happened all before, none of this is new
