Written Words

by ntv650   Feb 26, 2005

The anger became gently smothered by the melody in the air,
I felt it sooth starting from the inside, working its way out.

Cooling my hate for all of those who have brought me sorrow,
I want to feel like this forever, a void that I must fill with words.

It’s a beauty so strong that I cannot contain it within my lines,
I want it to leap up from the page, flash in your memory and burn in your eyes.

Such perfect architecture such a breathing living creature,
That I am afraid to touch it for fear it might bite me.

All this might sound rather strange, hard to identify with,
But if you were me sitting here writing this.

You would want to hold my hand and sit beside me,
Helping me write this poem.

But this moment is a moment to pass,
So with this line I say goodbye and announce it’s my last.

I liked this poem. It flowed nicely. The only critism that I have to offer you is to not have the last two lines rhyme, because blank poetry is good when it has no rhyme, but when you but in rhyme, it detracts from the flow. Good job, keep writing!
