Expect Of Me

by Mark Coates   Feb 26, 2005

What the hell do you expect of me,
Just to turn around and tell a lie,
I know what happened now,
I understand the truth.

At the time I was too young,
I never understood you were a pervert,
You always said it's you punishment,
So like a good kid, I accepted your words.

I didn't wanna go, I wanted to stay,
The things you did to me was in a normal day,
Till those men took me away from you,
I was afraid where was i going?
I didn't know, what they said they were saving me from.

Now as i look back I wonder,
If she knew, why not protect me,
She was too afraid of you,
We were never truly free,
Till that polished, pine casket,
Was dirty from the mud,
Till we knew you were dead
