You were always There

In a world of swirling darkness,
Where all you have is yourself
Traps are laid for every step
And deceiving people lurk

Your trust cannot lie,
On anybody you know
Because sooner or later you’ll find out
They are out to deceive you once more

When you need a hand,
They turn their back on you
And when you need a friend,
They become your enemies

But when I found you,
You entered my life
And from that moment on
I have flourished
And then I noticed…

You were always there when I need you
Always at the door
You were always there when I was weak
And you gave me strength

You were always there,
When I needed confidence,
You gave me the will to go on

And you were always there,
When I had hurt emotions
And you were there to comfort me

You were always waiting all the time
Even after I ignored you
You were the light that cleared the darkness
And revealed the truth to me

Life is so confusing, with very day gone by
But I know that I will make it, with you by my side
I lay my trust in you, and everything I have
Because you were always there
