Loving Forever

by Sean Allen   Feb 26, 2005

Well the view from down here
is that the plane is infinite:
sea as far as you can see,
an ocean never-ending
as if we're in a tug boat;
afloat, remote, and entirely,
totally alone in the heart of the sun.

And as we take the limit
of the violent waves
they fade way,
approaching a quiet zero
on our infinite plane.
We're living on the edge of forever.

There will always be tomorrow.
Aching pains of want will fade away
with every coming dawn;
what Poe didn't understand
is that true surcease of sorrow
can only be bought,
but never borrowed
from the rising sun.

Well the view from up here
is slightly more bleak:
sea runs to shore
and the gentle mystique
of a forever-land
fades away into the thought
that there won't be a tomorrow.

    Aw great! Now I'm pissed that you told me what it meant, or was supposed to mean. I like it. Truly sad, or was it sad but true?

    absolutely beautiful, very thought provoking--you're much ahead of your time and age level in writing. Hmm it took me a while, I won't lie but I think I finally truly understand it. I like poems like this I have to deeply analyze. -5
