75 Days

Its been 75 days
Since I last felt the sting
Of cool metal slicing
Across my milky white skin

It feels like forever
Since I saw the blood flow
From the cuts to my veins
75 days ago

It hasn't been easy
My hands tremble with the urge
To run that blade across
And watch the blood surge

Its like an addiction
You cant help but crave
But this deadly habit
Will dig you an early grave

Its been 75 days
Since I thought it was my last
Longing for my future to fade
As well as the past

Its been 75 days
Scars remain which I made with this knife
Perhaps to remind me
What Ive been through in my life

But they will fade within time
As so will the pain
I'll get on with my life
But the memories will remain

Its been 75 days
But my journey has only just begun
The battle has only just started
And I have not yet won

Its up to me
What path I choose
Will I fall victim to the blade
Or will I carry on and make it through

Its been 75 days
Since I last felt the sting
Of cool metal slicing
But I know I can win

*To all those who cut themselves, just know that you can give it up because in the end it's only going to hurt yourself and everyone you love. Its hard, like most things in life, but in the end its worth it*

    Wow... great poem, so emotional... I don't do cuts, but some of my friends do, and they loooove it when blood starts oozing out of the cut they made and they make more blood come out by pressing it... it gives me the chills

    That poem was amasing, and its great that u stopped cutting urself, makes people like me realise that life isnt all.. rainbows and butterflies, and that there are people who put themselves thru that pain, and i hope ur poem inspires people to stop.. good job =)

    That was amazing. I hope it inspires the many girls that do it. I love u for writing that. I just recently started cutting myself. I dont think I"ll become addicted, beause life has gotten better since then.
