Couldnt know

Sorry for the yelling, she tells them with a smile, but behind the plastered mask hides a soul that's dark and vile.
All they say is it's ok, and they tip their hats and turn away, driving off with flashing lights but having no place to go, they turn the corner and dissapear, but how were they to know? A child's scream cuts through the air, and fades into the night, all is dark in this unknowing town, and off goes the last burning light. When morning comes there is no sun, and the population has gone down one, now if the neighbors had once stopped by, the might have heard this silent cry, silence fills this regretfull town, as the tiny coffin enters the ground, the air is thick with the sound of cries, but how were they to know?

Amazing! I love it when someone can take a story and put it into a poem! You did a very good job with it! I'd like to know who died though. Read some of my stuff if you ever get the chance.
