Am I in love?

I held my heart in my arms
And cradled it from danger,
Held it as closely as I could,
Didn’t want it stolen by a stranger.

I grasped my heart with sturdy hands
Vowing never to let go,
Protected it from society,
Never letting it show.

I wanted to keep it for myself,
Keep out of loves door,
But then this gorgeous chick walked past
and my heart fell to the floor.

Now I look at this girl
and wonder how I feel,
Is it a phase, just a crush?
or is this love real?

I really want to hold her hand,
But I can’t because I know,
If I grasp her sweet fingers,
I’ll never want to let her go.

Because when I look into her eyes
a light shines from above,
And now I begin to wonder
Am I once more in love?
