Life:lost in a dream

by matthew cote   Feb 28, 2005

Desolate streams of cooling air
surround me as I stare --
out to the night of darkened sky
and things that I am unaware

alleviate pain that’s felt inside;
from her eyes I do hope to hide
with the emotion of the rain --
that comes strong as my tears are cried

unseen escape from my pain
pulled farther from all that’s sane
the moon that holds a certain gleam
brings light to my small world of shame

echoes found as I stand and scream
for an end to madness is foreseen
with slashes up and down my arm
I fall from life: lost in a dream
