He died of a broken heart, She died of a broken soul

by mandi   Mar 1, 2005

He has no scars they've all healed,
He's so numb, the pain's no longer real,
Lost in his own dead thoughts,
No longer thinking of the pain he has brought,
The wounds in his heart have disappeared,
They washed away with all of his tears,
Wanting, Waiting for death to come for him,
That he only takes comfort with one friend,
This friend doesn't talk, he only listens,
As all his pain ends though self-mutilation,
It's his way to end it all,
As everyone sits there watching him fall,
Cutting the skin straight to the bone,
Only when he's all alone,
No one notices, No one cares,
Thats when he says, "This time I'm not scared,"
Not a blade he choses but a gun,
Just to make sure he gets the job done,
Hand shaking, it goes to his head,
He pulled the trigger BANG!! he's dead,

Shrieks of horror can be heard as his body's found,
Because nobody noticed that he was suicide bound,
Nobody but one person knew why this was his choice,
His little friend that has no voice,
Under his lifeless body was his good-bye letter,
Stating that he wished things had gotten better,
"Sorry," it wrote "But there was no other way,"
"It was either last night or in front of you today,"
The rest of the letter could not be read,
Because It was red from the blood he'd shed.

As they placed the casket in the ground,
Red roses followed it down,
Out of the corner of his mothers eye, she saw the girl,
That for so long he'd made his world,
TEars were streaming down her cheeks,
As she knew what she had done, the thought of it made her weak,
She knew she'd killed him by saying good-bye,
And thinking that made her want to join him and die,
Silently screaming inside her mind, while tears stained her face,
Asking herself "Why can't I be in his place?"

Later on inside his home,
There was plenty of people but she was still alone,
Not thinking of anything but him,
Memories playing over in her head again and again,
She left his house a broken soul,
Questioning herself as to why she let him go,
She drove out to the grave sight,
Knowing it was to late to make things right,
Kneeling beside the headstone, a tear escaped her from her eye,
Trying to keep herself from breaking down to cry,
She stood up and said her final farewell to him,
A tear streaming down her cheek to her chin,
"I love you," she whispers as the wind rustles her hair,
"I'm sorry things didn't turn out that fair,"
She got in her car and drove away,
And that too would be her final day.
