Final Good-Bye

by Jacklyn   Mar 1, 2005

That early September morning,
He boarded the plane with his brief case.
Leaving behind his wife,
Who was 8 months past with a baby,
The baby was due December 26th.
He’ll be home before then,
To help out his wife.

The doctor ordered her to rest,
Over working her, may cause to much stress,
But he was still forced to work,
Even fly around the world.
She lay in bed asleep,
As the phone rang that September morning,
It was her husband in disbelief,

He wasn’t suppose to call until he reached his destiny,
But then he explained to her everything,
He didn’t want to upset his wife,
But he just wanted to say good-bye,
“Hi honey, it’s me.
Just most likely this will be out final good-bye.
The plans been highjack and they have killed our pilots.

It’s a violent act, which will affect everyone,
I love you so much, I can’t even tell,
You’ll be a great mother, don’t you worry,
I’ll be with you all the time, in your heart and mind,
Things might get rough but never give up!
Consider our baby a piece of my soul,
Tell her I love her, and travel in her heart,

Whisper in her ear, her daddy always cares,
Don’t be afraid of planes,
Just murders and thieves,
I will bless you and the baby,
But try to find someone else,
Our daughter needs a father,
To teach her certain things,

You need a husband,
Who can hold you cold nights,
Who can help you around with the house,
Who can hold you every September 11th,
I don’t know where I’m going,
But it looks like New York City,
Then the phone line went blank,
And she knew what it meant.

She turned on the TV,
And it took only a moment,
Before a second plan hit a tower in New York,
Her husband was gone,
Her baby lost her daddy,
all because of a plane,
on a certain September day.
