Sarah - I Won't Fly Away

I am sat in TEARS, for the suicide
I was just about to make
A blade ready, and I would have died …
But something made me wake

I came to this poems site
Just for one last look around
And I read Sarah’s poem – she’s right
I have to stay, both feet on the ground

Sarah, I won’t fly away
This hour I had it planned
But no I won’t die today
Cos I see you understand

I read through my poems from the past
I look at my old diaries and such
Oh how long this pain’s had to last
But wow did I fight so much

So I’m giving it another chance, for you
Sarah For that poem You wrote
You made me see what I’d put you through
If I put to action my suicide note

Sarah, you may not know
That poem you wrote opened my eyes
I see now that if I were to go –
I’d cause so much grief, now I realize

So this blade won’t bleed me to death
Tonight I shall sleep and tomorrow shall wake
In an hours time it WON’T be my last breath
Because a life is something no one should take

I’m crying – yes I’m cutting, too
And smoking my millionth cigarette
But Sarah, I’d be dead tonight if it weren’t for you
You are an amazing person, Don’t you ever forget –

YOU SAVED MY LIFE.
