Carrying Me From Death...

by ntv650   Mar 2, 2005

Sometimes I wonder when that stranger looks back in the mirror at me,
What I have done to deserve your endless mercy, my saviour, my queen

How sweet you are, you’re eyes, lips and the sound they make.
Surely I am not worth your time, beautiful mystery that makes my sorrow hide.

Your presence graces me so deeply that I fall before you on my knees,
Never has anything struck so hard and broken my pride without breaking my heart.

What has a monster like me done to deserve to be saved by an angel,
It is your heaven’s that have sent you from above, to salvage me from my hell.

Your voice soothing all my pains stopped the tears that I found staining the memories.
Chasing away the darkness with all you are, I’ve found my strength before so far.

I think your god’s gift, designed to outshine all the glory that in the world exists.
The last thing I expect was that your final wish would be to save me, a coward, a wretch.
-Charred by the long life with nothing but a shadow to hide the face of death.
