I Don't Want

I don\'t want to have to wait
Until you’re too far gone
To write a special poem for you
To tell you that we’ve won

I don\'t want to kneel down at your grave
And wet the ground with my tears
Knowing that we could have been
Closer throughout our years

I don\'t want to be too late
To sing to you our song
To dance as slowly as we can
Realizing it wasn’t as long

I don\'t want to close my eyes
And know you’ve disappeared
Only to awaken from my nightmares
Living the life that I’ve always feared

I don\'t want to be alone
And feel the darkness surround
I need you by my side to hold my hand
Feeling the tension mound

I don\'t want my life to go to waste
Blaming myself for your death
Thinking I could have done so much more
To provide you with more breathe

I don\'t want to live forever
With just the beat in my heart
I want to know that you’ll be there
And that we’ll never part

I don\'t want to live like this
Crying alone every night
Feeling sorry for myself
Because things never go right

I don\'t want to be the last to die
To watch my family perish
I want to have them with me
Not only the memories to cherish

I don\'t want my poem
To get to you too late
Because I’m afraid that if it does
You will already meet your fate

Since I was a little girl
You have been the one beside me
Even when I was broken and frail
You were where I wanted you to be

If I could collect all my tears
And save them for the day you die
Id have an ocean drowning myself
For you, and only you I’d cry
