Tell

by Heather   Mar 2, 2005

Tell me you'll always be there for me,
Because I'm always there for you,
Tell me that you still care for me,
Because you know it's true.

Tell me you'll stay,
If it's what makes me happy,
Tell me a funny joke,
So you won't miss me laughing.

Tell me you'll leave her,
Just to see her cry,
Let her tell you, she'll cut her wrists,
And make you wish you would die.

Make her say those stupid things,
And make her take them back,
Tell her you'll drop her in a second,
Like potatoes in a sack.

Tell her that you're over her.
That you have someone that cares,
Just for no apparent reason,
Just sits across from you and stares.

Tell her that you cared for her once,
But can never care again,
That you know you're gonna miss her,
But you'll still be her friend.

Or just come out and straight up tell me,
That you'd rather be with her,
Tell me those feelings you had for me,
Were just something that occurred.

Tell me that you loved me before,
But can never love me after,
Tell me you love her more,
And watch the tears fall faster.

Watch me take a kitchen knife,
And slash it across my wrist,
Watch it make a puddle of blood,
The size of your own two fists.

Come to my funeral, and bring me flowers,
Roses if you will,
Kneel down beside my casket,
Tell me that to protect me you would kill.

Say a little prayer for me,
That I'll have a good life in heaven,
In that little prayer please say that you'll miss me,
And you wanted to be with me then.

Come visit me when I'm in the ground,
Taking my long dirt nap,
Say that you're thinking about me,
And you'd give anything to hear me laugh.

Tell my mom that you came to visit me,
And that you miss me too,
Listen before you fall asleep at night,
And you'll hear me say, "I love you."
