The try to discourage me,

"Men will try and cheat you, rape you, rod you, ruin you,"
Is another attempt at putting me off,
"I know, and I'm ready, theres nothing in my way."
"You don't seem to understand, I know whats out there, and I'm ready,"
I try to explain,
"I know of the pain, I know of the hurt,"
I show them what I've learned,
"But I also know the joy and happiness, of the world out there."
They sit there stunned, thinking
"Did she really just grow up?"
They turn to me and cry,
"My dear, you are ready for the world outside, goodbye, good luck, and have a good life."
With that in mind, I get up and go,
I'm ready for all that can challenge me,
So throw what you will at me world,
I'm ready.
