Full Moon Light

by wayne t   Mar 2, 2005

I stand staring at my tombstone thur eire full moon light,
Snowy white seamless beams illuminate this lonely night,
For I am ready to end this forlorn existence called life,

To plunge in my heart a dagger more chilling than death,
Yes 'tis coals of love burned out that is hiding in my chest,
Is not hard to open wounds to flow passion and my soul,

Blood flowing warmly down my chest, like a woman's touch,
Emotions have flowed from my soul many times before,
Each time it takes longer to heal, to regain real feelings,

My body is feeling cold, lips dry, missing a warm wet kiss,
Tombstone is glistening with the elixir of life, that is love,
Falling to my knees, hand slipping from the dagger, I rest,

I lay feeling the hand of death, turning to see full moon light,
You may ask what is the dagger more chilling than death,
The dagger is fear of never finding someone to share your love,

To be alone, never to feel a woman's touch, passion in a kiss,
Suddenly out of the moonlit mist, a shadow of a woman resides,
Silver hair shining in full moon light, she removes the dagger,

Touching the wound in my chest, sealing it up with her hand,
Kissing me I feel passion flowing into my body from within her,
As she holds me in her arms warming me with all I desire,

Laying on the tombstone the dagger of fear is turned to dust,
Scattered by the wind of love on this eve of full moon light.

Very romantic. Passionate and symbolized with beautiful symbols set in a dark and illuminating atmosphere. You displayed the main object of the piece well, along with the feeling of fear of going on never to have expierienced love, or be loved. you also portrayed the healing of the event powerfully when using the woman's image as a symbolic gesture of what the object could bring. I espcially admired the lines,
"Tombstone is glistening with the elixir of life, that is love,
Falling to my knees, hand slipping from the dagger, I rest,
I lay feeling the hand of death, turning to see full moon light,
You may ask what is the dagger more chilling than death,
The dagger is fear of never finding someone to share your love,"
the only thing I didn't appreciate about this poem was the bluntly stated symbol of "the dagger of fear"
i thought that was too simply stated and could have been written as a better image.
    overall, well done
