A Girl Was Walking Along

by Liz   Mar 2, 2005

A girl was walking along in the rain,
She ran as fast as she could,
To keep up with the train.
But one fatal slip,
And she was on her way to an eternal trip,
Through the lands of endless sleep,
With no light, no hope, not one single sheep.
Her family still weeps and cries,
If only they could see it through her eyes,
“Why didn’t you come to help me?”
She asked her mommy,
“Why didn’t you tell me to be safe?”
An unfitted parent,
Another dead child…

That girl still walks along that same train track,
Chasing the train,
Never looking back….
