Nightingale for David

by unknown   Mar 2, 2005

Nightingale in the night time sky,
Elbows steady, on the windowsill,
Eyes open and head leaning sideways,
The wind gently stroking her white silky face,
Lips gentle quivering as heat escapes,

Hands in cups around her cheeks that are subtly reddened,
And fingers gentle pressing the skin down under their tips,
Creating shadows from their frames,
She’s smiles, a sweet smile that’s lights her face,
And her eyes seem to take the moons place,

She watches all the movements of this beautiful bird,
As she dreams of the awaiting hand in the sky’s,
She tilts her head as the bird flies away,
The wings so elegantly using the winds current,
She smiles as it fly’s away from her view but as she’s now see it in her mind.
