Go ahead and ask the girl why she cries

Go ahead and ask the girl why she cries,
but she'll just push you away with tears in her eyes,
then she'll go back to her dark corner,
all hunched over like a lost mourner,

The girl will stay in that position for days at a time,
while the depression whispered "I will make you mine",
For it had taken her over and consumed her whole,
Her heart was scarred and bleeding, with a broken soul,

She didn't’t think that anyone could ever love what she was,
But some people did just because,
They loved her for her and not for someone else,
Tell her this and the frozen ice around her melts,

When she smiles you can see a cute little dimple,
But smiling for her wasn't all that simple,
It was hard for there was nothing good enough,
The girl was so fragile, like a piece of glass, not at all tough,

At any given moment she would fly apart into many pieces,
She was always worried, her forehead full of creases,
So go ahead and ask the girl why she cries,
While she’s screaming and while she dies,

There was many reasons why she was like this,
She had never received any love, not one kiss,
The girl was rejected again and again,
Like she was some god for saken sin,

The girl was made of cold hardened rock,
And she watched the clock go, tick tock,
passing her by so fast it was a blur,
Every second was painful for her,

So go ahead and ask the girl why she cries,
She’ll just look at you so sadly while she sighs,
Then she’ll run away,
So try to catch her if you may...
