I Stole Your Love

by ntv650   Mar 3, 2005

Loosing count of the times I’ve promised my loyalty, waiting patiently for you to change your mind.
Trust me I have had my trials and tribulations and am growing day by day. Feeling almost powerful.

So to remind you one more time before I leave-
I am the one who stood here longer than the rest
Through the torrential rain, you’ve felt my pain.
I miss the past, your kisses and that healing touch
Were the only ones who have tasted you and me
For a true promise you know I’d wait eternally
The burns from the sun would prove my insanity.
So I search into your soul for where my answer might lie…

Embedded in threads of memory, entangled within love and regret
I found a shining light and it shone brighter yet than your eyes
As I grabbed the light darkness crowded all around, I felt its heat scar my hands.
Turning around the beauty of this consecrated place was suddenly gone.
It burned deeper yet, below my skin, bringing my blood to boil.
Kept from its home, I realised this light was not mine to hold,
But I’m not the kind of man to cry, I simply let go and waved your love goodbye.

Now you can see how my life is slipping through your hands
Eventually if you won’t go with me, that’s all. And it’s the way things will always be.
