So Alone

I feel so alone
With friends that care
People who love me
But even with that
I feel so alone

Since I could remember
There has always been a hole
A hole I have been trying to fill
But with all the artificial love I give
It’s left even more empty then before

There is a light at the end of this tunnel
But every step I take towards it
It feels like I’m going backwards
Further in the darkness
That threatens the life I belong to

Every time I think I have reached the top
Of the cliff I always fall from
There is a hand willing to lift me up
Pull me from my darkness
But every time I reach I fall

So used to the dark
I don’t think my eyes could adjust
If I ever made it to the light
If I was lifted from my fall
I’m too accustomed with the darkness now

I feel so alone

People who love me

I continue to feel
So alone
