Existence of Faith

Existence of Faith

Are you there; can you hear me?
Do you listen or do you ignore me?
I know you love me but do you like me?
For that difference means a lot to me

I’ve been searching for so long
Yet I’ve found out so little
Won’t you help me; won’t you guide me?
I want to believe

Parables are written, to understand their meaning
We know what fate awaits us
But we race ahead through the hurdles
We know the shortcuts won’t work
We will stumble; we will fall

I ask you if your Book is true
Many believe it is so but science stands against you
Does it not bother you; does it offend you?
And if your word is a parable to help us understand
We need help

I’ve been searching
I’ve found no answer
You will not speak to me
But I read the words you’ve spoken
And I think I believe
