Psalm of October 21, 2006

by Caleb   Mar 5, 2005

Watching lives flourish outside a silent, foolish cell
Haunted by the beauty, stricken with the gain of Hell
Lying and deceiving to the melodies of acoustic death
Lustful ambitions wake to the loss of useless breath
In perfect orbit, prayer wounds my humble peace
Unnatural voids prove the blind heart of a beast

Heartbeats connect, regret is innocently unable
For a lost, tender heart finally lay emotionally stable
Renewal of fulfillment rids itself of despicable sin
A fresh pleasure, and a new, wholesome life shall begin
Romance outlives reflection, dawn melts security
A virgin once alive has willingly lost all purity

Yet again a joyful song has been thrown away
'Tis the skin of a shadow calling tears to stay
A naked symphony begins beneath the light
Within the satisfaction, love fades out of sight
And while sheets dampen, the night does progress
Soon enough, ravens shall burn to confess

Forgotten memories disembow two spines
One remains strong, but then comes the lines
Etchings deep blink conscience back to life
Frail blue eyes stare ahead full of eternal strife
A ripple outstretches a weathered ocean
Testimonial harmony is not in this devotion

Inadequate distance yet deserved, painful tears
Gracious adoration is gone, bitterness is here
Vanished illumination buries frigid blue
You wear the pain that I wish I never knew
Love is a fairytale, it never heals the scars
Deep in the word lay the distinct meaning of stars

I never thought I'd meet this horrific day
Where goodbye is all you could truthfully say
A dream would end this constant flame
But this is real, where nothing is the same
Never again will a heart engrave my palm
For this is my last broken hearted psalm

_____

When ultimately, yet only partially giving your heart away, it seems as though something/someone always shows up and widens your trivial desires.
