Those Sleeves

Those Sleeves
are pulled down for a reason
And its not the
chill of the winter season

those sleeves
hide her mistakes from view
those sleeves
cover and hide them from you

those sleeves
are tightly tied at the bottom to her thumbs
those sleeves
make her forget, make her pain become numb

those sleeves
will never go away
those sleeves
are here to stay

those sleeves
are the masks she wears everyday
those sleeves
should be gone, but not today

She waits for a day
she can walk around proud
of her life, of her mistakes
when she can cry outloud

But today is not that day
nor is it tomorrow
until people dont judge
her sleeves cover her sorrow

So those sleeves
will never go away
those sleeves
will always be here to stay
