I lie awake in my bed,
tracing your name on my pillow.
Tears stream down my cheek,
as thoughts of you run through my head.
Slowly I start to feel it,
The pain seeping into my skin.

I tug on my hair,
I bite down on my lip,
as I painfully remember how you
Looked at me when I told you.
It seems so stupid
Now that I think about it.
What kind of person falls in love
With their best friend?

I tuck my head in my knees,
Shamefully hide my feelings inside,
Reminiscing on how it used to be.
I don't understand how you don't
Feel it too, but I know someday
You will.

So now I'll just sit here,
