The Bitter Lover

by Jackie Bilson   Mar 6, 2005

A hopeless romantic in her early teens,
Only just turned a naive fourteen.
She thought the world was a beautiful place,
Wore a smile that never left her face.

He gave her every reason to believe,
That he'll always be there, he'd never leave.
But that was a lie and now she's alone,
Her once warm heart, turned to stone.

Nearly two years passed and she's till gray,
She's become a bad person, no matter how hard she prays.
A cruel smirk lays upon her lips,
As more hopeful hearts she manages to rip.

But this cold front is still just a cover,
To stop other guys from wanting to love her.
Because the only lesson she learned from her first,
Is love is a blessing, tainted by a curse.
