Once long ago there was a boy
spoiled rotten with tons of toys
innocently playing though he didn't know
his parents were broke, but they kept it on the low
As a teen he couldn't see
why the food on his plate was low quality
why everyone else had a Play station2
and he had nothing at all to do
The hidden knowledge was soon revealed
Devastated, he kept his mouth sealed
All his life a secret was kept
and now everynight he simply wept
as his life went on he saw the pain
of other people, it was just insane
how many people lived in poverty
all the hidden knowledge he couldn't see
Drugs, alcohol, suicide and hate
were all new, he couldn't relate
His parents never told him the world was a mess
but now he knows, and he must confess
that all his life hes been so glad
