Child In Me

Child In Me
Through the girl that I am now,
There is still a child in me.
I know she is still there,
For it is something I can see.
Whether or not she shows herself,
Is simply beyond me.
I can’t control how she acts,
Because I haven’t yet found the key.
I haven’t quite learned about myself,
But I know I will in time,
Because the child inside,
Will once again show she is mine.
I try to act the way I am,
And not the way I’m told.
I just want to be myself,
To be strong and bold.
For what ever comes my way,
I won’t be scared to say,
That yes, I am myself.
