Winter

by Ryan   Mar 7, 2005

I held her hand in the snow as we slowly froze to death

the distant light was consumed in the darkness

our falling tears added to the surronding ice

crimson stains everywhere

our skin turned blue in the cold

her hand shattered in my grasp

shards of flesh cut into me but I did not bleed

her heart kept beating as she died

my breathing stops as the wind erodes the moment

the memory frozen in the cold forever preserved

the snow entombs me with the last dieng beat of my heart
