It Happened To Me.

Ever been raped?
Ever been abused?
Ever been bullied?
Ever been used?

It happened to me.

Ever been exposed?
Ever felt like a fool?
Ever drowned in despair?
Ever felt you’ve lost is all?

It happened to me.

Ever tried to die?
Ever been locked away?
Ever cut or burnt yourself?
Ever lost everything in one day?

It happened to me.

Ever been hit with wood by your Mom?
Ever felt mental rape?
Ever been sick with fear?
Ever turned to drugs to escape?

It happened to me.

Ever lost sight of your dreams?
Ever been sectioned by the mental health act?
Ever seen or heard what isn’t really there?
Ever tried in vain to put your life back intact?

It happened to me.

Ever felt disconnected from the world?
Ever watched through a broken window?
Ever wore a smile while you screamed inside?
Ever had people care, but then they just go?

It happened to me.

Ever been abused and through fear went back?
Ever been tortured by someone only you could see?
Ever hit rock bottom and given up?
Ever stared at the a grave, and saw it as being free?

It happened to me.

And I’m still standing … with a real smile on my face.

    That is such a powerful poem, it can be related to by so many people and still has a positive part at the end. One thing... 'Ever stared at the a grave, and saw it as being free?' is it 'Ever stared at a grave, and saw it as being free?, or something? Keep it up xxx

    You know im so glad i came across your poems its nice to know that there are people who can be strong even after all thats happened to them. Especially when theres so many "depresssed" people who don't have any problems at all....
