Wrap me back up

Cut me open
find nothing there
place me back in my box
without a care

back away
forget what you found
it doesn't matter
don't make a sound

picture my face
cold and alone
remember the scars
id never shown

wonder how
you let it slip by
the fears i fought
the tears id cry

how i would smile
day in and out
while my mind
was trapped in doubt

along with my heart
so broken and bruised
such a mess to clear
nothing left to lose

look closely now
nothing special to see
just a dead pulse
and a numb body

so wrap me up
pretend I'm not there
place me back in my box
without a care
