Indifference

by Stef   Mar 8, 2005

I have drawn a line between us
Seperating you from my battles; the ones I must fight alone.
I will detach myself from you and grow cold
Mimicking your indifference and lack of sympathy.
I will hold back from opening my world to your unsteady gaze
Since you close me out at the first sign of rish.

I have built a tower to hide in
Distancing myself from you so I will not feel the pain.
I will watch your actions from high above your world.
Never will I let the sting ease into more than that
As I push away from your empty smile and black heart.
Painting my own heart to match yours, all my colors fading.

I have torn down my emotions
Saving my soul from the harm you could have caused
Had I been weak enough to care while I knew you never would.
All the heartbreak you forced upon me is a thing of the past
As I resist your kiss and loosen my grip on your hand...
Drawing the line between us.
