Don't Believe

by BreatheNoMore   Mar 8, 2005

I don’t believe in enthusiasm
It’s a means created to feed another’s ego
I don’t believe in smiling when you’re not happy
My body’s expressions follow where my mood goes

I don’t believe in small talk
Unless it’s evident it’ll lead somewhere
I believe we all discreetly plaster our pain
I don’t believe once cut our hearts can be repaired

I believe that not wanting to get involved
Is a rehearsed excuse for a coward
Coveting your opinions
Is a cover up for those who feel lack of power

I believe this world is too dogmatic to craft the discretion
Between man and man or man and wife
I believe the public confuses the simple things of living
With the pointless things in life

I believe that sarcasm is a devise applied to hide your distrustful nature
I believe that defensiveness is result of low self-esteem
I believe if we all followed our true nature
Things would actually be what they seemed

I believe that when hell is thrown upon our lives
Chance of not allowing it to affect you does not exist
We must find a productive way of dealing
Nothing ever diminishes when we resist
