Love In Your Eyes

On a day when I’m down and out
you pick me up like no one else.
You grab my hand in your’s,
you look at me and tell me this...

I’ll love you today
I’ll love you tomorrow gone.
I’ll be here till the day begone,
Just close your eyes and think.
It’ll be me in your mind,
I’ll have you in mine.

I look back deep in your eyes and think,
I can’t believe God would give something as precious as this.
I pray to keep this with me forever more.
I look back deep in your eyes and say...

I’ll love you today,
I’ll love you tomorrow gone.
I’ll be here till the day begone,
Just close your eyes and think.
You’ll be in mine as me in your’s.

    I really don't see the greatness in this poem. Particularly, the idea is not unique, the words don't captivate, and I'm only moved by the sentiment behind the poem.

    However, I know you can do better. ;)

    Don't be discouraged, if you read my poetry you can tell I'm not a lovey-dovey person and maybe this just isn't my type of poetry.
