Half-Blind

by JustAFoolInLove   Mar 10, 2005

She sees only shadows
Rarely ever light
She hides in the darkness
Not wanting to be found

I try and I try
To shower her daily
With praise, adoration,
And gifts of warm love
But never will she see
How much it takes
For me to love her selflessly
Only to see
My presents ignored
And substituted for wood

Wood to build fires
Deep down in her heart
To burn all good feelings
And protect her from bad

She needs to open her eyes
And see reality
To see that life is good
With only a few
Bad twists thrown in

She regrets living
As I regret my inability
To show her the right way
To show her how to live

^^I stick by what I said. Unknowingly, with each write, I can relate and its uncanny to me how I can always fit your perspective.

Yet. Its the poet in me, always putting myself in other people's positions that makes me feel the connection.

Eh. Anyhow, I feel the same as I did a year ago when i first met you, meaning. I feel that young, like i've never changed.

    >..i should do things like this more often.

Wow, that sort of sounds like me. Zac, are you describing me? lol. Well, I hope thats not a true story, because selfless love is always the real killer. Great poem, hun!
