Yearning

by Paul Mills   Mar 10, 2005

Be not spiteful of their way
Toll swiftly O’Ye hesitant chime
Quickness please with strike and ring
Hastily pass by this lonely time

Bring about from distant port
Favoring currents cross rolling sea
Rig full sail and ride the wind
Hurriedly love back home to me

I love the fact that this poem can take on so many different meanings.

It is refreshing when I can read a poem over and over again and each time find something new and exciting.

You have penned this piece so wonderfully that to take my eyes away from it is quiet a challenge.
