Perfect Girl

Hello, perfect friend
With perfect hair
So straight and shiny
You dress with such care

I’ve seen your perfect life
Your perfect little home
Loving mom and dad
I never see you alone

Your perfect voice
You sing, and you win
Trophies and rosettes
Perfect icon, pretty and thin

Perfect boyfriend
His red sports car
With the top down
Already living like a star

A perfect family reunion
I saw them arrive, all smart
And leave smiling brightly
Oh didn’t you inherit a good heart

Your grades perfects A’s
Scholarship to a top university
Perfect curled writing
And uniform made so pretty

Everyone’s favorite perfect girl
The envy of the school
A friend to every kid
Don’t you just have it all?

Oh, perfect girl, you don’t know
What I saw that night in the dark
The needle in your arm
And the fifty something man in the park

I watched you go home
Transforming under the stars
Perfect girl? Sold yourself for morphine.
Oh, and what about those scars ... ?

* I have a temptation to explain this poem, and it's ending, but then poems are meant to make you think. so I won't deny my readers that. Though I'm sure it won't take too long too work out ....
* Right well people are having trouble, so here's a hint: do any of you ever feel way too pressured to live up to to standards and every do ... things ... to try and cope? well i gave it away really. it's about what's going on inside can be so different from the outside, pressures in what appear 'perfect' families may seem OK, but they can be harsh ...
