*Weak in Strength*

by little birdy   Mar 10, 2005

Walking along the darkness
The rain as cold as snow
The concrete is covered with water
She’s walking bare foot, very slow

Stopping to see where she’s going
But nothing is visible when
The storm is too rough to look through
Wondering what happens then

Dressed in a torn up dress
That’s draping above the knee
No sleeves, just a plain piece of cotton
That’s as soaking as it can be

She’s cold and dying of hunger
Trying to carry her weight
No strength is left in the body
Yet walking and feeling life’s hate

Trying to remember her memories
Trying to look at the past
Just wishing to find a good life
One that will not be the last

Then her body falls to the ground
The tears from the eyes just fall
Her body’s no longer moving
While leaning against the gray wall

The rain is beating against her
The ground is still just as cold
She’s laying so still, seems so fragile
While she’s is praying to the Lord

The next day it had stopped raining
But she is still where she lays
The picture of her on the concrete
Was placed there for many days
