She Fell to Pieces

by Mac   Mar 12, 2005

Sunlight's pouring through the windows,
Splashes cross her dusty floor.
Shines upon her cold, dead fingers,
Warmth won't wake her anymore.

Don't you know she fell to pieces?
She shattered like glass just last night.
Don't you know she wept for your arms?
To send her in blissful flight.

Shadows play at her fingertips,
Silent they dance all morning.
Though to touch her they wouldn't dare,
Clock chimes noon they leave no warning

Don't you know she fell to pieces?
Her wings torn off the night before.
Don't you know she wept for your arms?
The place where she was adored.

Dust wind wafts round her silken hair,
Weaves a tale of innocence lost,
Leaves gather and crown her angelic brow,
How much could her last breath have cost?

Don't you know she fell to pieces?
Her heart finally splintered apart.
Don't you know she wept for your arms?
Tears of sorrow when you did depart.

She fell to pieces, after losing you.
She fell to pieces, what's this child to do?
