THE GOD IN THE HEVENS

He told me i should know
god would never let me go
my friends they understood
why my eyes seemed to flood

i took you there
and watched you stare
then i realized its not you i need
its that man on the cross who did the deed

he died for my sins
and cared for me so
yet i took away his trust
from his love i did go

then he opened his mouth and began to speak
it was special to me and made me feel week
week under the wings of the almighty god
sat down there all on my Tod
i wanted you there to feel his grace
and the tears he placed upon my face
tears of joy and hope and faith
something i want you to have

i know he is there
i know he loves us
i know he does care
you don't ask he just does

tonight i felt special there was someone to love
a special something sent from above
