Knock Once...

by Mac   Mar 13, 2005

Lonely and tired, sitting uncomfortably in death's pale grip,

Knock once for sanity, twice for approval, three times for companionship and four for love.

Never leave a heart unbroken, a mind unshattered, a soul unbridled or a person unchecked. Forget words said in passion and apologies said in stupor, let friends fall where they may and help them up when they can stand.

Knock once for sanity, twice for approval, three times for companionship and four for love.

Remember men as they were and women as they should be, recall that which is beautiful but block that which frightens you to suicide. Love self murderous rabbits, but hate crimson bovined liquor.

Knock once for sanity, twice for approval, three times for companionship and four for love.

Live for those who will help you when you fall, Die for those who'll love you ate your worst, kill for those whome you love and were victims, cure for those with little hope of a bright tomorrow.

Knock once for sanity, twice for approval, three times for companionship and four for love.

Lie awake at night bright eyed and sick, leave lone those who love, or like, or forget themselves. Look to the day when you too will join the crowds of those whom live, love and forget.

Knock once for sanity, twice for approval, three times for companionship and four for love.
