Back to those who knew me best

by Mac   Mar 13, 2005

Hey there I know you,
Been a long time, meant to visit you.
Hey there how’s the family?
Haven’t seen ‘em in a while do they still know me?
I meant to call, I meant to write,
Remind myself all day, then forgot each night
Got your notes, got your messages too
Wondered each time if I still loved you.
Last letter was to much to bear,
Your name was on my lips, face was everywhere.
I thought about you constantly,
Hoped that you could still forgive me.
Knew you love would last forever,
My heart just breaks too fast however,
Finally got my courage to show,
It took awhile, just took to slow.
Met you here face to face,
Remember this our special place?
Was here I first fell on my knees,
My future lost in the raging seas
Found your hand felt your might
Stepped out of the darkness and into the light
So here I am back again
Here for guidance like before,
Here for your help and so much more
You’re the one who can rescue me,
break these chains to set me free.
Your broken hands hold me tight,
Keeping me safe from the pains of night
So here’s my life my love my pain
And everything that keeps me sane.
My hope and spirit, my only peace,
In exchange for you who’ll never cease.
I want to give you more each day,
Give you myself, it’s there to stay
I give my trust, my wrongs my rights
Give you that on which I’ve set my sights
All I need I want in return,
Just you for which I yearn
